Billy Liggett, Editor: Billy is a newspaper editor and radio show host living in Sanford, North Carolina. He has been editor at the Sanford Herald since February, 2007, and has been in newspapers since 1999. He married his college sweetheart Jennifer in 2003, and today, they're the proud parents of a little girl, Hayley Alexandra (born Oct. 3, 2009) plus an 8-year-old Jack Russell Terrier and year-old Labernese.

Jonathan Owens, Community Editor: Jonathan Owens is the assistant editor of the Sanford Herald. A 2003 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, his bias for all things Carolina blue knows no bounds. He also enjoys long walks on short piers and golf.

Gordon Anderson, Reporter: Gordon covers crime and local politics at The Herald. His blog is mostly local news-related, but from time to time, he will also write about whatever strikes his fancy (that includes music, baseball, literature, movies, etc.)

Alex Podlogar, Sports Editor: Alex has been sports editor for The Sanford Herald since August 2004. He graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1998, and while his love for the Tar Heels has been tempered by many of UNC AD Dick Baddour’s actions, he continues to be a diehard Chicago Cubs fan. He has been married for nine years to his wife Becky, and they are the proud parents of the best 5-year-old girl, Allison.

Caitlin Mullen, Reporter: Caitlin spent her life in norther Illinois before moving to Sanford, NC, in the fall of 2009. She said she's "eagerly awaiting what's to come" in her new home.

Ashley Garner, Photographer: Ashley is a 20=something photojournalist at The Sanford Herald. She graduated from Randolph Community College in August of 2008 with an Associates in Photojournalism, and 6 months later found her way to The Herald working at her first newspaper.
